On this year 56th Kannada Rajyotsava the Times of India colleague the humble and simple GS Kumar a film critic since a decade is awarded the Rajyotsava award for his meritorious service of 28 years in journalism.

GS Kumar hailing from Mysore had worked in Times of Deccan in the 80’s and joined the Bengaluru edition of Times of India – that was The Times of India when launched in mid 80’s.

The soft spoken and intelligent GS Kumar gets Rs.1 lakh cash prize and 20 grams of gold as part of ‘Nada Habba awards’.

From the Kannada cinema industry veteran AR Raju, actor, writer and theatre plays Sarigama Viji, director of Kannada films K Shivarudraiah former State Information department employee gets the award.
